Joe David Myers is a native of Glasgow, Kentucky. He began his investment career with Edward D. Jones (EDJ) in August 1988. Not long after, they asked him to open a new office for them in another state. Joe looked forward to the adventure and moving to LA. Well, not exactly the LA you might be thinking. "LA" or "Lower Alabama" is how it's referred to in that neck of the woods. Troy, Alabama was the landing city for Joe to open EDJ's 4th office in the state of Alabama. By July of 1989, after successfully establishing the of Edward D. Jones office, he returned to his home town to take over an existing EDJ office. Then, in 1991, came yet another career move - the offer of a position with a regional investment firm. Little did he know at the time that the position he accepted would be the springboard for opening the door to the type of practice he's run for over 20 years. But in the meantime, Joe continued to expand and retain a large clientele.

The thought of owning his own independent practice became more and more appealing, largely driven by concerns about having to use specific proprietary products, company quotas, and corporate mandated sales goals instituted by his then and previous brokerage firms. Through independence, he would be able to focus on his client's individual goals and objectives without having to answer to anyone but the broker-dealer's compliance department. It was August 1994 when Myers Investment Group was born and Joe officially hung out his shingle as an independent advisor and not an employee of any broker dealer. His securities license is registered with Independent Financial Group, LLC who conducts oversight- compliance is provided by them.

After building his practice, serving clients in southern KY and extending to other states, Joe and his wife Lily made the monumental decision to relocate. As with a lot of folks, their tolerance for the cold, damp winters in Kentucky had come to a juncture where a warm climate with relatively mild winters would be a welcomed change. After selling much of the practice in KY, they headed west in February 2010 to start a new chapter of life and business in the desert city of Surprise, Arizona. Almost immediately, Joe and Lily jumped into their new surroundings. By involving themselves in their community, they began offering their investment services in the Northwest Valley of Phoenix.

Joe now has nearly 30 years of security industry experience. He has held a FINRA series 7 registration (General Securities) since 1988, a series 24 (General Securities Principal/Supervisory) registration since 2004 along with state registrations of Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law) since 1988 and series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law) since 2010. Additionally, Joe carries state insurance licensing.

Lily has held her Series 7 and 63 registrations, along with state insurance licensing since 1998.
